TRANG O CHA : Taste of Trang Photo Exhibition
âTrang O-Chaâ invites visitors to experience the deep connections between way of life, culture, and belief in Trang. A southern province known not only for its delicious cuisine, but also for the rich stories carried in every meal. In Trang, food is not merely sustenance â it is ritual, a meeting point, an expression of identity, and a way to communicate with both the living and the departed. This exhibition presents narratives of daily life, cultural diversity, and long-held beliefs, all told through the language of food.
The âLÃŪm Ros Trangâ (Taste of Trang) Photo exhibition features stories of nine meals throughout the day in Trang, exploring the unique rhythms of local life. It also highlights the cultural blending of Thai Buddhists, Chinese, and Muslims living co-exist, through dishes that reflect indigenous wisdom, local ingredients, and food traditions tied to ceremonies, beliefs, and yearly celebrations. The stories are conveyed through photographs by Ta Pakornkan Thayansin, founder of the page âTRANG āļāļĩāđāļāļĩāđāļāļąāļāļŦāļ§āļąāļāļāļĢāļąāļ,â who has chronicled the province for almost twenty years, and through the complementary series âTrang Roast Porkâ by Ikkew Theerameth Chedwongtragul, together forming a complete visual portrait of Trangâs identity
